EXHUMATION OF A VICTIM KILLED DURING THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN VISOKO

An exhumation was carried out at the location of Čekrčići-Vrela in Visoko municipality. Incomplete skeletal remains of one person were unearthed.

The recovered skeletal remains shall be transported to the ossuary of PUC „Sveti Marko“ East Sarajevo for forensic and criminal investigation processing i.e. determination of the cause of death and collection of DNA samples in order to determine the identity of the victim.

The exhumation process was coordinated by an Investigator of the Special Department for War crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and attended by the representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor specializing in forensic medicine and Police Officers of PS Visoko.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the remains of the missing in all parts of BiH.
