At the site of Kuta, in the territory of Foča Municipality, an exhumation has commenced under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and complete skeletal remains of one person have been found, as well as fragments of bones which presumably belong to other persons.
The found mortal remains will be transported to Goražde, where forensic, as well as criminal and technical analysis will be performed and bone samples will be taken for the DNA analysis in order to establish the victims’ identity.
The exhumation at this site will continue for a few days because there are indications of a mass grave at this site.
The exhumation process is being coordinated in the field by a Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, whereas officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Foča Public Security Center participate in the process of finding and exhuming mortal remains.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with institutions involved in the process of tracing missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, continues with the process of conducting exhumations and finding missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
