18.03.2014. 15:23

A Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has put forward a Motion for Custody with the Court of BiH against a person suspected of the criminal offenses of Organized Crime, as referred to in Article 250 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with the continued criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, as referred to in Article 195 of the same Code.

CUSTODY PROPOSED AGAINST SENAD SAKIĆ

The suspected person for whom the measure of custody has been requested is Senad Sakić, born on 24 May 1985 in Tuzla, resident of Živinice, citizen of BiH.

Sakić was deprived of liberty by authorized police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency – SIPA, on 14 March 2014, and he was subsequently handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH within a statutory time limit.

The suspect was deprived of liberty due to the existence of grounds of suspicion that he, as a member of an organized criminal group, was conducting illicit trafficking of Heroin and Speed narcotic drugs from the Republic of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Having questioned the suspect, the Prosecutor in charge of this case has put forward a Motion with the Court of BiH seeking custody in the duration of one month, for reasons stipulated in Article 132, Paragraph 1, Items (a), (b) and (c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, the measure of custody has been proposed due to the risk of flight of the suspect, as well as due to the fear that the suspect, if at large, might hinder the criminal proceedings by influencing witnesses or accessories, but also due to the fear that the suspect  might repeat the same criminal offense as the one he is charged with.

The Motion for Custody has been forwarded to the Court of BiH, and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH resumes its investigation in this case.
