INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST ONE PERSON FOR ORGANISING A GROUP OR ASSOCIATION FOR SMUGGLING OR DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS ON WHICH DUTIES WERE NOT PAID

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued an indictment against one person  charged with the criminal offense of Organising a Group or Association for Smuggling or Distribution of Goods on Which Duties Were Not Paid under Article 215 of the CC BiH.

The Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued an indictment against Z.M. (1964) from Bileća a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused Z.M. is charged to have become a member of a group of people smuggling and distributing goods on which duties were not paid – cigarettes in 2010. This group included persons known to him from which he purchased cigarettes smuggled from the Republic of Montenegro, which were not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As alleged in the indictment, on September 13, 2010 the accused Z.M. was contacted by one of the persons known to him, whom he had asked to deliver a "tour" of cigarettes i.e. 10,000 packs of cigarettes and has simultaneously inquired about the position of police patrols in the vicinity of the place for handover of cigarettes. The RS Mo stopped the accused on that day and discovered 10,000 packs of cigarettes "Ronhill light" in his motor vehicle.

The accused Z.M. then fled from his vehicle, which was left at the agreed place of handover of cigarettes, informed his wife about the event and told her to hide the cigarettes before the police comes to search their home.

The accused Z.M. is charged to have become a member of a group of people distributing goods of which duties were not paid - cigarettes, thereby committing the criminal offense of  Organising a Group or Association for Smuggling or Distribution of Goods on Which Duties Were Not Paid under Article 215, Paragraph 2 of the CC BiH.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
