By order of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, dozens of SIPA and Zenica-Doboj Canton MoI officers carried out an extensive operation in the fight against illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs.
Several locations in the area of Zenica were searched and six persons deprived of liberty.
Certain quantities of more than one type of narcotic drugs, equipment (scales, etc.) as well as a certain quantity of weapons were found both in the previous period and during the latest search.
We have had good cooperation in this case and have coordinated with police and judicial authorities of the Republic of Austria and the Republic of Croatia, which is another good example of intergovernmental regional cooperation in the fight against the smuggling of hard drugs. The suspects are charged with the criminal offense of Organized Crime (Article 250 of the CC BiH) in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs (Article 195 of the CC BiH) and will be handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor who will question them and decide, within the legal deadline, whether to seek remand in custody or order of prohibiting measures.
