Following the appointment of 13 prosecutors to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the Chief Prosecutor - Goran Salihović held a Collegium meeting with the newly-appointed Prosecutors, as well as Prosecutors and Heads of Departments/Sections of the Special Department for War Crimes.
He welcomed the new Prosecutors and wished them a lot of success in work with new colleagues at the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
During the meeting the attendees discussed the pace of work on war crimes cases and a significant acceleration that should be possible due to arrival of new prosecutors.
Strengthening of the capacities of the Prosecutor’s Offices of BiH should definitely help achieve significant and better results on war crimes cases, which is one of the priorities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH aiming towards the rule of law and bringing justice to victims thus creating a safer living environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Chief Prosecutor pointed out that working in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH requires a lot of effort because it involves very extensive and complex cases, and that the arrival of new prosecutors should be followed by new indictments in complex war crimes cases in the upcoming period, hence the results in the year 2014 should certainly be better.
