Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued an indictment against Indira Kamerić, born on November 22, 1962 in Bosanski Brod.
The accused is charged to have acted contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions relating to the protection of victims of armed conflicts, in the period from April to October 1992 in the area of Bosanski Brod municipality during the armed conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina for she had, as a member of the 101st Bosanski Brod Brigade of HVO, both alone or together with other members of the HVO, participated in physical and mental torture and inhumane treatment of Serb and Bosniak civilians and prisoners of war who were unlawfully incarcerated and abused in the building of the Police Station Bosanski Brod and the premises of the stadium, "Polet" in Bosanski Brod.
The accused is, inter alia, charged to have personally participated in the severe abuse and beatings of prisoners, to have personally inflicted bodily injuries to prisoners, tortured them in extremely demeaning ways and abetted rapes and sexual abuses committed against unlawfully incarcerated persons.
The indictment of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH charges the accused to have committed the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 173 of the CC BiH.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
