Prosecutor of the Department III of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has issued an Indictment against Mladen Subotić aka ‘Mlađo’, born on 08 January 1975 in Šabac, Republic of Serbia, with permanent residence in Bijeljina Municipality, with prior convictions, citizen of BiH and the Republic of Serbia.
As alleged in the Indictment, on 30 August 2013, around 9.20 PM, in the border zone in the place of Trnjaci in Bijeljina Municipality, the accused avoided measures of customs control and used his Daimler-Benz 210 D Mercedes truck with BiH registration plates to transport across the customs line 1025 hidden cartons of cigarettes of various kinds and brands, labeled with excise stamps of the Republic of Serbia, with the market value of BAM 34,125.00, for which cigarettes he did not have an authorization of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH. The aforementioned cigarettes were found by authorized officials of the Border Police Unit in Bijeljina.
In this manner, the Accused avoided customs control measures and, without appropriate approval, moved across the customs line goods the import of which demands special approval, whereby he committed the criminal offense of Smuggling of Goods, as referred to in Article 214, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
