At the site of Staro Selo in Kalesija Municipality and the site of Maholjski Potok in Osmaci Municipality, exhumations were carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
In Kalesija Municipality, two fragments of bones were found that belong to the body of one person, and in Osmaci Municipality, one fragment of a bone was found that belongs to the body of one person.
The found mortal remains of victims from both sites were transported to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla, where forensic, as well as criminal and technical analysis will be performed, the cause of death will be determined and bone samples will be taken for the DNA analysis in order to establish the victims’ identity.
This exhumation was supervised by a Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, who coordinated the work of police, forensic and other authorized officers carrying out the exhumation process, in accordance with the instructions given by the Prosecutor.
The exhumation was attended by representatives of the BiH Missing Persons Institute, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Osmaci Police Station and Kalesija Police Station.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with institutions involved in the process of tracing missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and tracing missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
