An exhumation in the Mostar Municipality was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. At the site of Gagrina Cernica, in the territory of the Mostar Municipality, an exhumation was carried out and incomplete skeletal remains of one person were exhumed.
The found mortal remains will be transported to the Sutina City Cemetery in Mostar where forensic analysis will be performed and the cause of death determined and bone samples will be taken for DNA analysis to establish the victim’s identity.
The exhumation process was coordinated by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and the exhumation was attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Ministry of the Interior of the Herzegovina- Neretva Canton.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing and identifying the missing persons, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and tracing missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
