Deprivation of liberty of Š.M. (1961), carried out by police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), was not carried out pursuant to the Order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, nor had the Prosecutor acting in this case been informed of the planning of such activity.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is conducting an investigation against the suspect Š.M. for the criminal offense of War Crime.
Further actions of the Prosecutor and a prosecutorial decision in this case will depend solely on the evidence collected in the course of this procedure.
As soon as he has received an official report from SIPA, the Prosecutor acting in this case will decide on the further activities in this case.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, as a judicial institution, operates pursuant to the law and the collected evidence and all prosecutorial decisions are being made in accordance with the evidence collected.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will not succumb to any pressure, and it neither wishes to be nor will be subject to any interpersonal skirmishes of politicians or other officials in BiH.
