EXHUMATIONS OF CIVILIAN VICTIMS KILLED DURING THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN PRIJEDOR

Exhumations were carried out at two locations in Prijedor under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

Several fragments of human skeletons were unearthed at the location of Kozarački kamen, as well as at the location of Zecovi-Gradina.

The recovered remains shall be transported to Identification centre „Šejkovača“ Sanski Most for forensic processing i.e. collection of DNA samples for an analysis aiming to determine the identity of the victims as well as to determine the cause of death.

The exhumation process was supervised by an investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor specializing in forensic medicine and RS MoI police officers.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
