Prosecutor of the Department III within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has issued an Indictment against Enes Čelebić, born on 15 January 1986 in Bihać, where he also resides, citizen of BiH, charged with the commission of the continued criminal offense of Counterfeiting of Money, as referred to in Article 205, Paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Article 54 of the same Code.
The Indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH charges Enes Čelebić with giving a counterfeit banknote in the amount of EUR 100.00 to a casino worker in Bihać on 21 November 2011, knowing that the banknote was counterfeit, and asking her to exchange it for a corresponding amount in KM, which the worker did do, only to find out the next day that he had given her a counterfeit banknote, which she then returned to him, telling him that she had checked it and established that it was counterfeit.
Further in the Indictment, it was alleged that, on 22 November 2011, the accused Čelebić tried to put the 100.00 EUR banknote returned to him by the above-mentioned casino worker into circulation as genuine, by going to another casino in Bihać and giving the aforementioned banknote to a worker there, asking him to exchange it for a corresponding amount in KM, which this worker refused to do after checking the banknote and he returned the counterfeit banknote to the accused person.
On 29 November 2011, police officers of the Federal Police Department in Sarajevo- Bihać Detachment, searched the accused person and found the aforementioned counterfeit banknote and confiscated it.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
