CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH MET WITH HIGH-RANKING OFFICIALS OF THE U.S. ATTORNEY’S OFFICE IN CHICAGO

During his official visit to the United States of America, Mr. Goran Salihović, Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, met with high-ranking officials of judicial institutions in Chicago, Illinois, USA. 

The Chief Prosecutor had separate meetings with Ms. Anita Alvarez, State’s Attorney for Chicago County, and Ms. Laurie Barsella, U.S. States Attorney and Chief of Public Corruption and Organized Crime Unit of the United States Attorney’s Office in Chicago.

During the aforementioned meetings, there was an exchange of experience with respect to combating corruption and organized crime, and the need for strengthening of cooperation and education between the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Illinois, USA, in combating corruption and organized crime was emphasized.

During the visit to the United States of America and the meetings of the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH with high-ranking officials of the U.S. judicial and police agencies, strong support was expressed to the strengthening of rule of law institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and support to the prosecution of war crimes cases and combating organized crime, corruption and terrorism.
