Prosecutor of the Department III of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an Indictment against the following persons:
- Fahrudin Demirović, born on 07 February 1970 in Bratunac, resident of Zvornik, with prior convictions, citizen of BiH, and
- Milan Jelić, born on 23 January 1983 in Gračanica, where he also resides, citizen of BiH.
According to the allegations in the Indictment, on 03 April 2011, the aforementioned accused persons accepted two Turkish citizens in Sarajevo for an agreed amount of EUR 400.00, with the intention of enabling them to cross the state border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Croatia outside the place designated for crossing the state border, all in violation of the valid legal provisions.
As alleged in the Indictment, these accused persons put the aforementioned Turkish citizens in a ‘Renault Rapid’ passenger’s vehicle with BiH license plates, and then they kept them in an unknown location, wherefrom they took them on 08 April 2011 in that very same vehicle towards the state border between BiH and Republic of Croatia, and their further intentions were hindered in Velika Kladuša, by members of the Border Police of BiH – Border Police Unit in Izačić.
The accused persons are charged with commencing the perpetration of the criminal offense out of greed, with intent, by attempting to enable other person to illegally cross the state border, whereby they committed the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons, as referred to in Article 189, paragraph 1, as read with Article 26 and Article 29 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The Indictment has been submitted for confirmation to the Court of BiH.
