Following the meeting held within the framework of the Structured Dialogue on Justice between the European Union and Bosnia and Herzegovina, held in Brčko on April 8-9, 2013 the European Commission has published the recommendations relating to the activities necessary to improve certain segments of the judiciary, including prosecution of war crimes.
The recommendations welcome the strengthening of regional cooperation between judicial institutions, the signing of the Protocol on cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of BiH and the Republic of Serbia and encourages conclusion of a similar protocol with Croatia.
The recommendations also support the capacity strengthening of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH aiming to ensure more efficient prosecution of war crimes, which was also supported by the associations of war crimes victims.
