TWO PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY

By order of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in the morning hours of December 4, 2012 two persons with the following initials were deprived of liberty in Prijedor area: V.Đ. (1968) and S.D. (1953), who are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity. They were deprived of liberty by the officers of the State Agency for Investigation and Protection - SIPA who acted on orders of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

The Special Department for War Crimes suspects these persons with having, as members of the Army of Republika Srpska, on July 23, 1992 taken part in the capture and execution of ten Bosniak civilians in the village of Čarakovo in Prijedor, who were killed in front of the mosque in the village.

These suspects are under investigation for the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The arrested suspects will, during the day, be handed over to the prosecutor who will question them and later decide whether to file a motion for custody.
