Acting on the request of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and Judicial Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for extradition of the suspect Aleksandar CVETKOVIĆ (1968), the Supreme Court of Israel issued a decision approving the extradition to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Israeli Court rejected the appeal of the suspect CVETKOVIĆ and approved the extradition. The Israeli Ministry of Justice should carry out the required procedure in order to extradite the suspect to the judiciary in our country.
Aleksandar CVETKOVIĆ is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and is suspected to have, as a member of the 10th Sabotage Detachment of the RS Army (VRS), directly and personally participated in the execution by shooting of Bosniak men and boys from the Srebrenica area at the location of Branjevo Military Farm, where more than 800 victims were shot and killed in one day.
Upon learning that the suspect resides in Israel the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and Judicial Institutions of BiH initiated activities pertaining to his extradition to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the recent period several persons suspected of war crimes were extradited to BiH Judiciary from various countries around the world.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with law enforcement agencies both in BiH and abroad, undertakes intensive activities aiming to locate and prosecute persons suspected of war crimes who have sought refuge in countries around the world in its goal to ensure that war crimes committed in BiH do not go unpunished.
