AN EXHUMATION OF WAR VICTIMS IS BEING CARRIED OUT AT ALIPAŠIN MOST IN SARAJEVO

An exhumation is being carried out under the supervision of an Investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH at the location of Alipašin Most in Novi Grad municipality – Sarajevo.

Several human bones were unearthed at this location. The exact number of persons to whom the bones belong shall be established later on.

The recovered remains shall be transported to the Memorial Ossuary Miljevići in Istočno Sarajevo for post mortem examination, identification and forensic processing. 

The DNA analysis of the remains shall be handled by the laboratory of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP).

The exhumation was attended by representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, CID of the Sarajevo Canton MoI, representatives of Novi Grad PD, a doctor working in the field of forensic medicine and an Investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH

The exhumation is supervised by an investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, who acts in accordance with the instructions of the Prosecutor while coordinating the work of police, forensic experts and other authorized persons engaged in the process of exhumations.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
