An exhumation was carried out at the location of Komarica in Doboj area under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.The skeletal remains of two persons were uncovered at the location and shall be transported to a joint ossuary in Odžak.
The DNA analysis of these bodies shall be by handled by the laboratory of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP).
The exhumation process was supervised by an investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor working in the field of forensic medicine, employees and the machinery of the funeral company „Mimoza“ as well as police officers of the RS MoI.
The exhumation had to be temporarily halted because the officials handling the exhumation discovered explosive devices at the exhumation site.
Once the site is cleared and the explosive devices removed the exhumation process shall continue.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other law enforcement agencies and institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the remains of war crimes victims in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
