OPERATION ‘PARAVAN’ /COVER-UP/ CARRIED OUT WITHIN THE FIGHT AGAINST ORGANISED CRIME AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUG - COCAINE AND WEAPONS

Acting under the supervision of the case prosecutor from the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, SIPA police officers deprived three suspects of their liberty in Herzegovina and searched buildings and vehicles at five locations in Međugorje, Mostar and Konjic.

 

OPERATION ‘PARAVAN’ /COVER-UP/ CARRIED OUT WITHIN THE FIGHT AGAINST ORGANISED CRIME AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUG - COCAINE AND WEAPONS

One of the suspects is a former high-ranking military official. The investigation relates to the persons suspected of organiSed crime related to the smuggling of large quantities of the narcotic drug ‘cocaine’ from abroad into the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the smuggling and sale of automatic weapons and other weapons and ammunition intended for distribution on the illegal market in BiH.

 

During the implementation of the operation, around 1 kilogram of the narcotic drug ‘cocaine’ was confiscated, as well as weapons, ammunition and explosives, the acquisition, possession and circulation of which is not allowed to citizens and natural persons, as well as a certain amount of money and evidentiary material that will be used in the proceedings.

 

The three suspects will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH within the period set by law, after which the prosecutor in charge will interrogate the suspects and make a decision on further activities in accordance with the law.
