GLAVNA TUŽITELJICA TUŽILAŠTVA BiH SASTALA SE SA GLAVNOM TUŽITELJICOM KANTONALNOG TUŽILAŠTVA KANTONA SARAJEVO

Ovaj sastanak dio je planiranih sastanaka glavne tužiteljice Tužilaštva BiH sa glavnim tužiocima u oba entiteta i Brčko distriktu BiH.

GLAVNA TUŽITELJICA TUŽILAŠTVA BiH SASTALA SE SA GLAVNOM TUŽITELJICOM KANTONALNOG TUŽILAŠTVA KANTONA SARAJEVO

On 4th November 2020, the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadić, met with the Chief Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton, Sabina Sarajlija.

The working meeting, which was also attended by Chief Prosecutors’ associates, discussed the work of the two Prosecutor’s Offices in extraordinary circumstances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as common topics related to war crimes, organised crime, corruption, fight against human trafficking and illegal trafficking, migration, as well as the prosecution of cases related to the migrant situation in BiH and cases related to election fraud.

A special topic of the meeting was the work on war crimes cases, in accordance with the Revised State Strategy for Work on War Crimes Cases, and cases that should be forwarded to Sarajevo Canton judicial institutions for prosecution, and there was also discussion on the importance of continuing the IPA Project 2019, which relates to the prosecution of war crimes cases and the work of judicial institutions.

At the meeting, Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić emphasised the importance of establishing a Network of Prosecutors and Investigators in order to more effectively combat trafficking in human beings and smuggling of persons, in which the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton also participates.

In addition, the work of the Strategic Forum of Chief Prosecutors and Police Officials established in BiH, for better coordination of the prosecutorial community and police agencies in BiH, as well as the Standing Commission for the Efficiency of Prosecutor’s Offices of the HJPC BiH, was highlighted.

In the coming period, meetings are planned with other chief prosecutors in prosecutor’s offices from both entities and the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to continue cooperation and improve the work of the prosecutor’s offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to meet recommendations from the European Commission report regarding war crimes cases, to coordinate work of Task Forces and implementation of strategic goals, as well as other obligations on the BiH path to European integration.
