CUSTODY PROPOSED AGAINST SIX SUSPECTS FROM ‘RETRO’ ACTION

Having questioned the suspects, the Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of the case will put forward a Motion with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seeking that custody be ordered against six (6) persons who were deprived of liberty in the course of the action codenamed ‘Retro’.

CUSTODY PROPOSED AGAINST SIX SUSPECTS FROM ‘RETRO’ ACTION

The measure of custody will be requested for the reasons set forth in Article 132, items b) and c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, due to the danger that, if at large, the suspects might hinder the inquiry, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accessories, or that they might commit another criminal offence or complete the criminal offence.

The aforementioned suspects from the case codenamed ‘Retro’ are active customs officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of them being the Head of the Customs Office, and they are suspected of the criminal offences of Organized Crime and Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit.
