INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST TWO PERSONS FOR ILLICIT INTERNATIONAL TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUG, UNAUTHORIZED PRODUCTION AND SALE AND POSSESSING AND ENABLING ENJOYMENT OF NARCOTIC DRUGS

Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following persons:

-      ZORAN RADIĆ, born in 1985 in Zenica, with prior convictions, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and

-      LORENA KRATINA, born in 1990 in Zenica, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These accused persons are charged with illicit international transfer, keeping, mediating international sale and import of the substances declared as narcotic drugs by regulation and unauthorised production and processing of the substances or preparations which were declared as narcotic drugs by regulation, as well as with unauthorized possession of narcotic drugs, from the second half of 2016 until October 2017, on several occasions in Zenica, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

According to the allegations in the Indictment, these accused persons are charged, as consumers of the narcotics, with using personal computers and accounts to contact sellers of the ecstasy narcotic drug unknown to them, as well as with using the payment system to pay the sellers for the narcotic drugs. Having received the previously agreed sum for the narcotic drug, the sellers would then send the narcotic drug via mail, in letters, and the accused persons would take over such shipments in regular postal traffic.

The second count of the Indictment charges these accused persons that, in 2017 and all until October of that year, they were producing the marijuana narcotic drug in a jointly used apartment in Zenica, for the purpose of consuming it.  After the search conducted by the police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), several types of narcotics were found, both in the mail and on these accused persons, as well as a small laboratory with marijuana plants, a measuring scale and other necessary equipment.

Due to the above described actions, these accused persons are charged with the commission of the criminal offence of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, as referred to in Article 195, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as with the criminal offence of Unauthorized Production and Sale of Narcotic Drugs, as referred to in Article 238, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the criminal offence of Possessing and Enabling Enjoyment of Narcotic Drugs, as referred to in Article 239, paragraph 3 of the same Code, all in conjunction with Article 54 (Continued Criminal Offence) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
