The Indictment pertains to war crimes committed in the area of Velika Kladuša, in the summer of 1995.

 

INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR WAR CRIMES AGAINST CIVILIANS

Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes has issued an Indictment against:

- Enes Salkić, born in 1969 in Velika Kladuša, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This accused person is charged with acting, as a reserve police officer of Velika Kladuša Public Security Station during the war and armed conflict in the territory of Velika Kladuša between the members of the 5th Corps of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the members of the National Defence of the Autonomous Province of Western Bosnia, in violation of the provisions of the Geneva Conventions relative to the protection of civilian persons in times of war, by torturing and abusing the civilians whom he thought to be sympathizers of the National Defence of the Autonomous Province of Western Bosnia, and treating them inhumanely.

He is charged with separating two Bosniak male victims in August of 1995, whom he tortured and beat and treated inhumanely, inflicting severe physical and mental injuries upon them, the consequences of which they still suffer.

This accused person is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians, as referred to in Article 173 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
