Within the Kekerović et al. Case the authorized officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA arrested yet another suspect. Following the questioning the Assigned Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed a motion to the Court of BiH for remand in custody.

Motion for remand in custody for a period of 30 days was filed for the suspect V.P. (1970) from Modriča, BiH citizen, who is suspected with having committed the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250, Paragraph 2 in conjunction with the continued criminal offense of Tax Evasion or Fraud under Article 210, Paragraph 3 in conjunction with Articles 54 and 31 of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with the criminal offense of Counterfeiting or Destroying Business or Commercial Books or Documents under Article 274, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska.

According to the evidence gathered, the suspect was acting within an organized criminal group while committing the criminal offenses in the field of economy and payments, in capacity of a director or a person authorized to represent, and was constantly performing illegal actions that are aimed at causing damages to the budget of BiH and acquiring unlawful benefits for himself and others in a total amount of about half a million BAM.

This is a case in which more than 20 individuals and legal entities suspected of multi-million tax evasion and causing damages to the BiH Budget, are being investigated.

The Prosecutor filed a motion for remand in custody on grounds stipulated in Article 132, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs b) and c) of the CPC BiH.

Remand in custody was, inter alia, requested due to risk that the suspect could suppress evidence, influence witnesses or accomplices in order to disrupt collection of evidence and hinder the investigation, as well as due to grounded suspicion that the suspect might repeat the criminal offense he is charged with.

Motion for remand in custody was submitted to the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH continues the investigation in this case.
