VJEKOSLAV ŠALIĆ CONCLUDED A PLEA AGREEMENT

Vjekoslav Šalić - charged with the criminal offense of Preventing Official Person in the Exercise of Official Duty under Article 241a, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH - concluded an Agreement on admission of guilt.

The accused Vjekoslav Šalić aka “Vjeko“- born on July 12, 1974 in Rogatica, permanently residing in Zvornik, BiH citizen, with prior convictions - entered into a plea agreement with the Prosecutor of Department III within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

Pursuant to the Agreement, Prosecutor and the accused agree that the accused Vjekoslav Šalić be rendered an imprisonment sentence in duration of nine (9) months by the Court of BiH.

The indictment against Vjekoslav Šalić relates to an event at a border crossing when he acted in an extremely rude manner and prevented an official person in the exercise of duty and also endangered the safety of an officer of the BiH Border Police.

By virtue of signing the agreement the accused fully admitted committing the criminal offense he was charged with by the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH of August 27, 2013 that was confirmed by a Preliminary Hearing Judge of the Court of BiH on September 10, 2013.

The proposed sentence is in line with the role of the accused in commission of the criminal offense.

With this agreement the accused confirms that he is aware of the content of the plea agreement. He also confirms that the plea statement was given voluntarily, knowingly and with full understanding and that he understands that he could bear the costs of the criminal procedure.

Pursuant to this agreement the accused has waived his right to a trial and the right to appeal the criminal sanction that shall be rendered to him by the Court of BiH.

The agreement was submitted to the Court of BiH.
