The Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued an indictment against A.S. (1975) from Prizren in Kosovo, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, charging him with the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250, Paragraph 1 in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195, Paragraph 1 of the CC BiH.
The accused is charged to have during the period from March 25, 2011 to March 30, 2011 as a member of an organized crime group, along with several other persons, committed a criminal offense i.e. illicit intermediation in international transport of large amounts of marijuana - skunk.
The indictment alleges that the aforementioned drug in the quantity of 9.762.605 grams was found packed in packages of about half a kilogram and wrapped in plastic foil and then concealed in hidden compartments in the motor vehicle "VW Golf 2" with BH license plates. It was discovered during police control on March 30, 2011 at about 11.40 p.m. on the IBC Uvac, at the entrance to BiH.
It is further alleged that the role of the accused in commission of the criminal offense is confirmed by the fact that he was involved in organizing the transportation and preparation of vehicles allowing that the drugs be placed in the fuel tank. After selecting a suitable vehicle for the purpose he made payments to a now sentenced person who had transferred the drugs from Mitrovica to Bosanska Krupa and had been caught doing so and prosecuted.
The accused A.S. has been on the run as of 2011 up to the moment when he was recently arrested for another criminal offense, for which he is currently remanded in custody.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
