FOUR SUSPECTS HANDED OVER TO THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF BIH

Prosecutor's Office of BiH shall file a motion with the Court of BiH to remand four persons, suspected of the criminal offenses of Organized Crime, illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Illicit Trafficking in Weapons, Military Equipment and Dual Use Products.

On March 22, 2012 a total of nine persons were apprehended in a joint action of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, USKOK, the Republic of Croatia MoI and the Republika Srpska MoI.

USKOK and the Republic of Croatia MoI arrested R.D. (1970) and B.R. (1966) from Bosanska Dubica, citizens of the Republic of Croatia and BiH, as well as R.Ž. (1955), G.B. (1979) and G.Z. (1981), citizens of the Republic of Croatia.

RS Ministry of Interior apprehended P.S. (1970), M.S. (1984), V.Z. (1973) and M.V. (1965) from Banja Luka, BiH citizens.

Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH shall, following the questioning of four suspects that were apprehended by the RS police, file a motion with the Court of BiH to remand them in custody for the duration of 30 days.

All these suspects are charged with having, as an international organized group, performed illegal purchase and sale of narcotic drugs - Heroin, Cocaine and Mephedrone, as well as illegal international export and transport of weapons and dual use equipment.

The suspects are alleged to have committed the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250, in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195 Paragraph 2 of the CC BiH and the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Weapons, Military Equipment and Dual Use Products under Article 193 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

Custody shall be requested on grounds stipulated in Article 132, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs a), b) and c) of the CPC BiH i.e. due to risk that the suspects could flee, as well as due to risk that, if released, the suspects might repeat the criminal offence, exert influence on the witnesses or accomplices and interfere with the investigation.
