MIROSLAV KRAJIŠNIK (1950), SUSPECTED OF WAR CRIMES, DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

By order of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, the officers of SIPA arrested Miroslav Krajišnik, who is suspected of having committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity, in Sokolac.

Acting on the orders of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency SIPA arrested the suspect Miroslav Krajišnik, born on August 4, 1950 in Sarajevo, residing in Sokolac.

The suspect Miroslav Krajišnik is under investigation by the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and is suspected to have, in June 1992, as the commander of Koševska Brigade ordered the killing of 10 Bosniak civilians, and capture and persecution of a number of people - mostly Bosniak women and children from the areas of Sarajevo's settlements Nahorevo, Poljine and other places.

The suspect Miroslav Krajišnik is charged with Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the CC BiH.

The suspect shall be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH during the day where he will be questioned by the assigned prosecutor who will subsequently decide whether to file a motion for custody or not.
