EXHUMATION OF MORTAL REMAINS OF VICTIMS FROM PAST WAR COMPLETED IN OSMACI MUNICIPALITY
07.04.2022. 13:53Under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the exhumation/ clearing up of the terrain at the Hajvazi site in the Osmaci municipality has been completed, and incomplete mortal remains of at least one person have been found.
The remains will be transported to the Tuzla Commemorative Center, where forensic and crime investigation processing will be performed, that is, bone samples will be taken in order to determine the victim’s identity via the DNA analysis.
The process of exhumation was coordinated by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was present in the field. The search for and exhumation of mortal remains was conducted with the participation of the employees of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons and a forensic doctor, as well as the necessary workers and mechanization, whereas police officers of the Osmaci Police Station were securing the site.
