EXTENSIVE ACTION OF BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE IN FIGHTING ORGANIZED SMUGGLING OF MIGRANTS
17.04.2019. 14:33Pursuant to an Order issued by a Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, police officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been conducting an extensive action, carrying out searches and depriving suspects of liberty in the areas of Bijeljina, Brčko and Donji Žabari.
This extensive investigation is aimed at persons who are suspected, as members of an organized criminal group, to have smuggled migrants coming mostly from the territory of the Middle East, who were not fulfilling the conditions required for a legal entry to, stay in and transfer through, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Following their deprivation of liberty, the aforementioned suspects will be handed over to the Prosecutor in charge of this case who will question them and subsequently decide on further activities in the case.
