INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN BIHAĆ MUNICIPALITY AREA
15.09.2017. 15:21- Nenad BUBALO, born in 1954 in Split - Republic of Croatia, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia.
The accused is charged with having participated in a widespread and systematic attack during the period of June and July 1992, in his capacity as deputy commander of the Military Police of the 15th Bihać VRS Brigade, and with having committed killings and persecution of civilian Bosniak population on grounds of their nationality and religion.
The accused is charged with having participated, in concert with other members of the VRS Military Police, in taking at least five Bosniak civilians captured in the Ljutočka Valley area and detained at the IMT Tractor Service Ripač detention camp away from the detention camp and their subsequent killings in the town of Hrgar, following which the bodies of the victims were thrown into the natural pit of ‘Bezdan’. During the exhumation conducted at that location in 1997, the remains of 83 persons were found, including the remains of the aforementioned civilians.
The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 (1) (h) in conjunction with (a) all in conjunction with Article 29 and Article 180 (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
