ACCUSED PLEAD GUILTY FOR ORGANISED MIGRANT SMUGGLING
17.11.2021. 13:21Pursuant to the agreement, the following sentences were proposed for the accused:
- Hasib Mehić, a prison term in the duration of 1 year and 2 months, a fine in the amount of BAM 8,000, and confiscation of the property gain acquired through the criminal offence covered by the indictment in the amount of BAM 1,450.
- Senail Miskić, a prison term in the duration of 1 year and 11 months, which will not be executed if the accused does not commit a new criminal offence within a period of 5 years, and a fine in the amount of BAM 450.
The accused are charged that, acting as an organised group with clearly divided roles and tasks, in order to acquire illegal property gain, they transported and smuggled illegal migrants who did not meet the conditions for legal entry and stay in BiH, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, mainly from areas of the Una-Sana Canton, towards the territory of the Republic of Croatia and the European Union.
By entering a guilty plea agreement, the accused waive their right to a trial and the right to appeal the judgment handed down to them by the Court of BiH on the basis of the agreement.
The Court of BiH, after deliberation, accepted the stated plea agreements.
