The Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, Gordana Tadić, met with representatives of the Nordic Police and Customs Cooperation Office in Sarajevo, and spoke with the Nordic Liaison Officer, Mr. Peter Vallaste and his associate Almir Imamović.

The Chief Prosecutor presented the institution of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, its internal structure and jurisdiction, as well as the results achieved to date.

The Office of the Nordic Police and Customs Cooperation operates within the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in BiH and represents police and customs institutions from 5 Nordic Countries whose goal is to work together with law enforcement agencies in other countries in the fight against cross-border crime, organized crime, terrorism, trafficking and other criminal offenses with international elements.

The BiH Prosecutor’s Office participates in a number of international operations. It has carried out joint activities and cooperated in the past with the Nordic countries, mostly with the law enforcement agencies of the Kingdom of Sweden in several cases.

The possibilities of faster and more efficient communication and cooperation between institutions, aiming to strengthen the rule of law, were discussed at the meeting.
