MEASURE OF CUSTODY PROPOSED AGAINST SUSPECT INVOLVED IN ORGANISED CRIME AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUGS
29.03.2019. 14:49A prosecutor of the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH sent a motion to the Court of BiH to order the following suspect into custody:
- VA born in 1981.
The suspect for whom an arrest warrant was issued was deprived of liberty yesterday, and the deprivation of liberty was carried out by State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officers.
The suspect is under investigation in the case dealing with the seizure of the truckload of narcotic drug “marijuana skank" in the quantity of about 666 kilograms at the border crossing Gradiška earlier this year, which is one of the largest quantities of seized narcotic drugs this year.
Three other suspects had been deprived of liberty within the case, so that with the yesterday’s deprivation of liberty four suspects in total were deprived of liberty.
The measure of detention was proposed for the reasons described in Article 132 (1) (a) and (b) of the CPC BiH, i.e. due to the risk of flight of the suspect who was being hunted for several months, and the risk that the suspect might hinder the investigation, conceal evidence and exert influence on witnesses or accomplices.
The motion for ordering custody was sent to the Court of BiH.
