ACTION AGAINST ORGANIZED CRIME AND IN FIGHTING SMUGGLING OF NARCOTIC DRUGS AND SMUGGLING OF ARMS, AMMUNITION AND PRODUCTS OF DUAL USE IS ONGOING UPON ORDER OF BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE

Pursuant to the Order issued by a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, for several hours now, police officers of the Police of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been conducting activities within the operation codenamed "Border", in cooperation with the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).
An Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently in the field, coordinating the activities related to the search and apprehension of the suspects.

The searches are being conducted at thirteen (13) locations and this action is targeting twelve (12) persons who are under investigation for organized crime associated with the criminal offenses of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and unauthorized trafficking in arms, ammunition and products of dual use.
During the search, more than one kilogram of the Cocaine narcotic drug was found and seized, along with a larger quantity of arms and ammunition intended to be smuggled to EU countries and used in the commission of criminal offenses, as well as a larger amount of money.
As part of this operation, important cooperation has been established with partner institutions of the Republic of Austria, in fight against serious forms of cross-border crime.
