GVOZDEN LUKIĆ INDICTED FOR WAR CRIME COMMITTED IN ZAKLOPAČA

13.11.2017. 13:58
Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes has issued an Indictment against Gvozden Lukić, born in 1949 in Metaljka, Milići Municipality, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • GVOZDEN LUKIĆ INDICTED FOR WAR CRIME COMMITTED IN ZAKLOPAČA

This accused person is charged with the commission of a war crime against victims of Bosniak ethnicity in Zaklopača, in Milići Municipality, in the spring of 1992, while he was a member of the Army of Republika Srpska in Milići.

The crime charged against this accused person was committed on 17 May 1992, during the organized army and police attack on the village of Zaklopača. Aware that his actions form a part of that attack, the accused is charged to have come to a location wearing a uniform and carrying arms, together with two other armed persons, where he spotted a group of civilians of Bosniak ethnicity, civilian men, women and children among them, who were the few survivor residents from Zaklopača. From that group, they singled out three male Bosniak civilians with known identities, and they took them in the direction of Vlasenica, with the intention of killing them. Soon, when they reached an intersection, they ordered the victims to get out of the vehicle on the spot where the road widens, and then they shot at the three Bosniak men from their rifles and killed them.

The mortal remains of these victims were found and exhumed from the mass graves and identified after the war.

The aforementioned accused person is charged with the commission of the criminal offence of Crimes against Humanity, as referred to in Article 172, paragraph 1, item h), as read with item a) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with Article 180, paragraph 1 and Article 29 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
